Red Tide Stay Away !!

cocoa beach morning

Red Tide problems. . .

Like all of you, we’ve been watching the many reports of the Red tide algae bloom on the west coast of Florida. Since the end of July, this toxic algae bloom has caused large fish kills and unsafe swimming conditions on many of the county beaches along the Florida west coast.

For those of you that may not know what the Red tide is or what causes it, we’ll give you the short version.

“Red tide” is commonly used to describe a higher- than- normal concentration of microscopic algae in the ocean waters.

The toxins from these algae blooms become airborne when stirred up by the wind and waves. This can cause eye irritation as well as respiratory issues and burning of the throat for many people just simply walking along the beach.

Oh, did I mention the smell of dead fish?  OMG!!

What Happened?! We’re Still Here!

“What happened to you guys?”

Hi everyone. It has been a while since our last post. What happened?

Jennifer and I want to say “thank you” to all of you that emailed us wondering what happened with our boat blog and why we weren’t posting.  It’s nice to be missed.

Sadly, the answer to “what happened” is. . .  Life has been getting in the way!!

We want to clarify that comment.   Our Life is fantastic!

Jennifer, Robert, and I are all still healthy and safe. For the most part, our family and friends are doing fine as well. We are blessed.

Even with the peak of hurricane season upon us, we’ve faired very well so far here in Florida.  As I type this, Jennifer reminds me that hurricane season doesn’t end until November and I might jinx it.   Let’s hope for the best.

Our best wishes go out to all that are being affected by Hurricane Florence and the continued flooding that is causing so much damage.
