It’s that time of the year again!

 Hi everybody!

A season change is coming. Or maybe it’s already here!  Who can tell?

Here in Florida, it can be hard to know just by the temperature.  For us, it means that the constant upper 90s of summer will begin to cool to a brisk 80° or so.

But that’s great for us. This is part of why we love living in this beautiful state.   Boating all year long!!

We know that in many parts of the country, folks are already winterizing their vessels and looking forward to the next summer.    Boooooo!!  🙁

Okay . . .   maybe somebody in Florida is winterizing their boat, but no one we know is!

We’re excited for the season change.  Change is good.

Btw . . . we’re making some changes here too.

Since 2018, when Jennifer and I started Thunderhula.com, our focus has been on sharing our boating experiences around Florida’s pristine waters  with all of you.

We’ve also shared our ultimate goal with all of you; heading toward a slow-moving trawler and the cruising lifestyle.

That’s still our goal and we work towards it every day like it can’t happen quick enough.     But, Jennifer and I have another passion that we both love . . .

The BEACH!!

The beach.  Where the shore runs into the ocean, and a world of excitement lies beyond.

Who doesn’t like the beach?

Maybe there are some folks who don’t appreciate the surf and the sand.  But, just like Floridians who winterize their boats,  we don’t know any of them.   🙂

During this crazy pandemic, we’ve spent a fair amount of time at the beach and in the ocean.   For me, it’s  all about fishing, swimming, and bodysurfing.   For Jennifer, the beach is where she collects  shells and seabeans for her crafting hobbies.

Mostly, we just enjoy relaxing in the sun and taking in all of the good vibes that the beach has to offer.  We love it!

But, if we love it so much, why not blog about it?

Beach and Boat Blog?!

Maybe you’ve already noticed the new addition to the tagline on our blogsite.  Thunderhula.com is now a “Florida Beach and Boat Blog”

Okay.  First let me say . . .  we are NOT changing our boat blog format. Boating around the pristine waters of Florida and posting about it is still #1 for us.

We’re just adding some extra content to the site.  With so many events happening on and around the beaches, why wouldn’t we post about them?

Just in Brevard County alone, there are cool things happening at the beach all year long.   Here’s a quick list off the top of my head:

Easter Surfing Festival , “Thunder on Cocoa Beach” / Powerboat Races, Rocket launches , July 4th Fireworks , Surfing Santas , Airshows , Sand Castle Competitions ,  and so much more .

And not just our local Brevard County beaches.  Jennifer and I can post about any of the Florida shorelines that we visit (even if by boat).

So that’s it.     Beach and boating topics in one place.    That’s crazy right? 🙂      We’re hopeful that those of you who follow our blog will enjoy some of our new content.
