Our Thanksgiving Visit To The Emerald Coast

Pensacola Beach

Happy Thanksgiving From The Emerald Coast

For the Thanksgiving holiday, we left Melbourne, FL and drove 8 hours to visit family on the Emerald Coast of Florida.  That’s right . . .  we drove 8 hours straight and never left Florida !!

The “Emerald Coast” refers to the northwest panhandle area of Florida from Pensacola Beach to Panama City Beach.

Some of the spots we checked out were Destin, Navarre, Santa Rosa National Seashore, and of course Pensacola.

This part of Florida was relatively new to both of us, but we’ve always heard so many good things about the Emerald Coast.   It did not disappoint! Continue reading “Our Thanksgiving Visit To The Emerald Coast”

TrawlerFest Was The Best !

TrawlerFest Stuart 2019

Hey guys. Jennifer and I are back from TrawlerFest Stuart 2019, and we’re happy to report that it was as much fun as we imagined.  TrawlerFest was the Best!

If you like cruising, if you want to start cruising, or you’re just really into the trawler lifestyle, this is the show for you.

In our last post, we detailed what TrawlerFest is all about.  After being there and experiencing it first-hand, we wanted to do a follow-up post for all of you.

We had the opportunity to walk around in so many different styles and sizes of boats all in one place. And we got to meet the wonderful folks that live on them.

We’re still talking about how awesome it was to be able to tour all of those beautiful and slow-moving “homes on the water”.

Saturday March 9, 2019

Our original plans included (2) days at TrawlerFest Stuart, but unfortunately our plans for the week changed, and Saturday turned out to be our only free day.

Believe me when I say, we made the most of it ! Continue reading “TrawlerFest Was The Best !”

Daytrip to the Silver Glen Spring

Astor river boating

First “Daytrip” to the Spring

They say there’s a first time for everything. This trip would be a first for us in many ways. This would be our first time to the Spring without our boat. The first time we would come and leave in the same day (daytrip). Oh, and our first time across Lake George at over 60 MPH!!

If you have read our previous posts, you know that we have yet to make a trip to the Spring this year for a number of reasons. But recently, we were invited out for a Sunday boat trip across Lake George and to one of our favorite spots, the Silver Glen Springs.

Jen and I were heading out of Orlando after work last week, and thought we’d stop in and see our friend Steve.  You’ll remember Steve from our previous post “Engine Problems Persist”.

Steve tells us that he and his wife Trish are heading up to the Astor boat ramp on the St. Johns River and making the short ride to the Silver Glen for the day. Continue reading “Daytrip to the Silver Glen Spring”
