2019 Christmas Boat Parades. We’re Ready!

Christmas boat parade

Who’s ready for Christmas?

Hey everyone. Jennifer and I want to start by offering all of you our warmest holiday wishes.  Now, who’s ready for the 2019 Christmas boat parades?  We are !

Just had our first real temperature drop here in central Florida, and we’re finally seeing highs down in the 80’s.  Lol

Halloween is over and with the DST clock reversal, now it’s cooler AND dark earlier.  It’s beginning to look alot like Christmas . . .”

Now all we need are lights.  Lots of lights.   And not just on the house and in the yard, but all over the boat!!

So . . .  get your batteries charged up, dig out the invertors, generators, or whatever you use to run your decorations and rig up your vessel. Let’s get out there and do as many boat parades as possible this year.

Jennifer and I like to participate in 2-3 parades each Christmas season. This year again we’ll be doing the Merritt Island Christmas boat parade in Brevard county and the Lake Conway boat parades in Orlando, FL.

2019 Merritt Island Christmas Boat Parade:

This will be our 3rd year navigating the canals and neighborhoods of Sykes Creek in Merritt Island by boat.  Hopefully, you’ve checked out or post on the Four Crazy Christmas Nights from last year.

There will be hundreds of boats all decked out in fantastic light displays making their way around the canals of Sykes Creek. Continue reading “2019 Christmas Boat Parades. We’re Ready!”

Boat Food

Hey guys.  Thanks for checking out this post.  It’s all about eating good food on the boat.

I’m pretty sure that you guys in the boating community know what I mean when I say “food ALWAYS tastes better on a boat“.

Don’t get me wrong, we enjoy food pretty much anywhere.  But when we’re out boating and doing our favorite thing, we try to bring some of our favorite foods with us.

This week, Jennifer and I made an executive decision to take a weekday (or part of it) for ourselves.  So we planned on spending Wednesday afternoon and early evening boating on beautiful Lake Conway in Orlando, FL.

But what do we want for dinner?  What can we cookout on the boat? What if we feed some friends?

Hurricane Dorian, Heartache, and the Albin 36

Hurricane Dorian on the way

Test 1, 2, 3 . . .     is this thing on?

We are soooo stoked to be back in the blog-o-sphere and ready to post about everything from checking out an Albin 36′ trawler, to moving, and even hurricane Dorian.

We’re back online and transmitting from our new location just barely above sea level in sunny Melbourne, Florida.

Since the end of March and our trip toTrawlerfest, what has been going on in our lives?

Heartache :

Sadness fell on us at the end of February when my mom passed away,  just 6 days after her 88th birthday. Continue reading “Hurricane Dorian, Heartache, and the Albin 36”
